The South Carolina Arts Assessment Program (SCAAP) provides arts educators with authentic, performance-based assessments to measure students’ arts proficiency. Established in 2000, SCAAP is a collaborative effort among the Research, Evaluation, and Measurement Center at the University of South Carolina (USC); the South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE); the South Carolina Arts Commission (SCAC); and South Carolina arts educators. Each year, SCAAP develops several teacher-informed assessments aligned to the 2017 South Carolina College- and Career-Ready Standards for arts educators
